Before the hot noontime sun and the afternoon rain, my husband and I walk around the corner to little parque with views of the Santa Ana church, couples holding hands on benches and vendors selling fresh fruit juices from brightly-colored stands. There is a small market with fruit vegetables, eggs and flowers sold by locals who know only a couple phrases in English. We buy papaya, dragon fruit, mangos, a bushel of limes, lemony basil and dried jamaica flowers. Read More
